On a sunny afternoon last Thursday, Lithuanian designer Laura Dailidėnienė – “Laura Daili” presented her SS17 summer collection in Vilnius. With few contemporary fashion designers having their own catwalk shows in Lithuania, designer and her team did a great job and significantly raised the bar of the fashion show standards in this new fashion city. Fashion Bloc’s assistant, another beautiful Laura, was our ‘ears and eyes’ reporting from the event.

The designer presented her show in a very special and original open-air venue – Neris river waterfront near the modern bridge, creating a spectacular atmosphere. Models and the designer herself arrived on a boat, although it was a very risky choice as Lithuania is famous for its showers (yes, not less than the Great Britain). Luckily, the weather was brilliant, as if delivered by a special order. The designer decided to invite very few people to see her new collection, so each guest would enjoy VIP treatment

Following her signature style, the SS17 collection of 30 models was structured, austere, and with a sense of freedom. Designer’s signature square neoprene dresses are moving to the next season with increased volume, new colours (pale pink), varied silhouettes and summer attributes.

As the guest of this fashion show, I am sure that everyone was left with unforgettable moments (captured on their phones and cameras) and beautiful emotions. Thank you Laura Daili, for the invitation and the opportunity to see new ideas and keep track of everything that surrounds us.
