Ukraine’s biannual international fashion week aka Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion days started on Thursday, 1st of September. The fashion event was founded in 2010 to help Ukrainian designers achieve international acknowledgement. Today, fashion week is dedicated to the global promotion of a new generation of Eastern European brands. Let us introduce three designers you should highlight in your fashion diary.
Anouki – a Tbilisi-based fashion designer brand known for handmade embellished and embroidered shoes and tweed. Designer Ana Areshidze studied in the world’s leading universities – Istituto Marangoni and Accademia del Lusso, she established her own label in 2013. Anouki collections are famous for pastel shades and her romantic signature off-shoulder dresses. Designs are made for modern and fashionable women, Anouki has a goal to offer clothes and accessories that speak “about you”.

Agne Kuzmickaite – one the most famous Lithuanian designer’s, who works in both fashion and theatre. She studied at Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts and is currently undertaking a PhD in Fashion design/Art Research. Kuzmickaite’s collections are known for creativity and functional conceptuality, her designs are made for women, who play a lot of different roles in their everyday lives.

Anna October – a Ukrainian-born fashion designer. She graduated with a diploma in pattern cutting and tailoring in Zaporozhie and after 2 years of fine art studies in Odessa, she launched her own name label Anna October in 2012. Her designs are known for feminine silhouettes with attention to high-quality fabrics, that are inspired by contemporary culture.
