This week in the fashion news I’ve discovered some really interesting and provocative stories and I would like to share them with you, in case you missed them! Stay tuned every Friday for the Fashion Bloc edit of the important, provocative, funny or even emotional fashion news and stories in our new Best of the Week series.

Video series – That’s an emotional piece of content right here. As you all know (or should have heard by now) – British Vogue has got themselves a new Editor-in-chief – Edward Enninful – a first black EIC, the first male to ever take this role. But these are just basic facts. Enninful is so much more than that and this short video by Refinery29 introduced a new face of the British fashion in the best way possible.

Positive fashion – Tomorrow, 22nd of April, we celebrate the Earth day. Moreover, next week we will all get involved in the Fashion Revolution week. So really, April is all about reminding ourselves how our fashion choices are impactful. An interesting read from positive fashion (and life) point of view – an interview with a model Renee Peters who runs her platform Model4GreenLiving promoting a sustainable lifestyle. “I decided to use my platform as a fashion model to reshape the way people think about environmental issues, and to show how it’s cool to care!”, she told in the interview with Positive Luxury, where you can read a full interview.

Fashion Business Hub – An interesting takeaway from the Business of Fashion Education series and their first “Inside of Industry” events at Central Saint Martins. BOF founder Imran Amed sat with an impressive panel of fashion industry insiders to discuss the industry. If you start as a creative you, unfortunately, spend very little time designing because you’ll be running a business”, – said London-based designer Anya Hindmarch. A good read to get a grip on the reality. The full article on BOF here.

That’s the three Editor’s picks of the week. Go on, dig in and start your weekend of catching up with interesting reads.
