Tbilisi has become a real fashion hot spot. After spending their days and nights at the main fashion weeks, fashion editors from major publications, such as Vogue, Elle, WWD, Fucking Young, flee to the Tbilisi Fashion Week SS18 for their intake of the Eastern European funk.
Tbilisi Fashion Week might not be your traditional fashion week as seen in London, Milan or Paris, in terms of the set-up, organisation and venue but this is what you are hoping for – an alternative angle on fashion. From street style to catwalk – the Georgian capital can pull it off.
We picked top 5 fashion looks from five fashion designers that we loved from Tbilisi Fashion Week SS18. The ultimate favourite, in agreement with international fashion editors, has been Atelier 27 this season. Atelier 27 is a creation of Keti Lakerbaia and Ani Katamadze. Launched in 2015 a young brand has developed a unique yet traditional style, featuring modern aesthetics mixed with Georgian folk elements. Check out other cool Georgian designers in the gallery and let us know what you think.
